- Biography / History
- The City Planning and Zoning Commission was established in Lexington in 1928. Its jurisdiction was extended throughout Fayette County in 1948 and its name was changed to the City-County Planning and Zoning Commission. Ten years later, the commission adopted the name, City-County Planning Commission. Some years later the commission became part of the new urban county government.
- Scope and Content
- This is a microfilmed copy of records of the City-County Planning Commission of Lexington and Fayette County, Kentucky. The records include commission minutes from 1928 to 1973, Board of Adjustment minutes 1928 to 1973, past planning studies issued from 1931 to 1966, and research reports (1963- 1964). There are also filmed copies of zoning ordinances of the 1960's and 1970's; maps; atlases; scrapbooks; neighborhood plans; and publications.
