- Ernest and Elsie Mulligan Foley were the parents of Nancy Foley Johnson and were University of Kentucky alumni (class of 1936). Both worked at Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky. John Bell Mulligan was a member of the Knights of Pythias and was Nancy Foley Johnson's grandfather on her mother's side.

- The Mulligan Foley family papers and photographs include University of Kentucky materials, plus photographs, artifacts, and other materials related to the family of Ernest and Elsie Mulligan Foley.
