Scope and Content
The Richard A. Edwards scrapbook includes photographs, postcards, correspondence, personal essays about the University of Kentucky, texts of speeches given as a student, newspaper clippings, invitations, programs, transcripts, and memorabilia from UK reunions, including lists of alumni. The photographs include an image of the 1908 faculty with a list of their names and titles, labeled photographs of campus buildings, the baseball and football teams of 1909, photographs of individuals from the class of 1910 such as Daniel V. Terrell and members of the Debating Team. The essays and speeches include Mr. Edwards' story of his years at UK, an Arbor Day speech by Mr. Edwards as class president, and his Class Day and Commencement Day addresses from 1910. The reunion memorabilia includes correspondence and programs from the 25th (1935), 40th (1950), and 50th (1960) reunions. It also includes photographs and lists of attendees from the 40th (1950), 50th (1960), 55th (1965) and 60th (1970) reunions. The scrapbook is very well organized and in excellent physical condition.
