George Rogers Clark Monument, Commemorating The First Permanent Settlement Of The West, In 'Old Kentucky'. (Printed verso reads: "Federal Monument dedicated Nov. 16, 1934 by President F.D. Roosevelt. It depicts Gen. George Rogers Clark starting on his exploration of the Northwestern Wilderness and marks the place where Clark planned his expedition. The memorial is the work of Francis Keally, architect and Ulric Ellerhusen, sculptor. In flat inlay in front of the monument is a map showing the routes of the early pioneers.")
